I've been packing for our trip back home to Turkey, so no TPPhD goodness today. Also, since Turkey is somewhat unpredictable in terms of both Internet access and Internet legality, expect post frequency over the next two months to be a little spotty.

LAST LINE IN THE UNIVERSE
6/25/2011 7:34:36 PM

There's a new series up: Last Line in the Universe.

This one will be irregular. It's a sort of clearing house for thoughts that are too important to be stored solely in my brain, too systematic to just be jotted down in my notebook, and too isolated to be incorporated into other projects at present.

The first post deals with the Amina Arraf hoax and what it means for the future of fiction online.

The Princeton PhD
turned 50 yesterday.

Which means I’ve been writing this thing, a page a day, for more or less 50 days straight.

Your response has been amazing. We got more than a thousand visits in the first full month of the blog’s existence, I feel very honored, and would like to thank you all.

And what better way to thank you than give you less of what you want?

Doesn’t make sense?

Well, consider this:

If I keep on writing posts every single day, the quality will eventually go down, I will run out of material before I get my degree next year, and I’ll probably get tired of the whole thing along the way.

See? Less really is more.

So.

From now on, The Princeton PhD will go MWF.

New posts will be up three times a week, mostly (presumably) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Ah.

The warm, tingling sensation of giving back.

A moral victory: Evrim's website is banned in Turkey.

(Well, her hosting service, actually, but we'll still take credit.)
